Every screening matters. Every conversation matters.

Access to care should come before a crisis.

Our Core Foundation

Helping Families Access Care Before Health Becomes a Crisis

Healthcare should begin long before a hospital emergency room.

Community Engagement

Every second matters. Every heartbeat matters.

Lifesaving care begins long before an ambulance arrives. At our community health screening camps, I personally lead CPR demonstrations alongside a resident physician, teaching attendees how to recognize cardiac emergencies, perform effective chest compressions, and understand the importance of immediate intervention. By translating essential emergency response techniques into accessible, hands-on learning experiences, we help community members develop the knowledge and confidence to act when every second counts. Our mission extends beyond preventing illness to empowering individuals to protect the lives of those around them.

About The Founder

“My goal is simple: help more people receive care before a small health concern becomes a crisis.”

Hi, I’m Sharanya, a senior at J.P. Stevens High School passionate about medicine, public health, biomedical research, and health policy.

As a youth leader and National Health Screening Camp Coordinator for MATA, I help lead healthcare initiatives across 8+ states, collectively serving over 6,000 individuals. My work includes coordinating free health screenings, leading food drives, organizing community programs, and teaching CPR alongside a resident physician.

I also pursue bioinformatics and molecular biology research through programs including Rutgers University’s Waksman Student Scholars Program, alongside clinical shadowing in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry.

I founded Access Before Crisis to connect research, preventive healthcare education, and community outreach, empowering individuals to access care and knowledge before a health crisis occurs.

“For a long time, I thought medicine was about treating disease. Then I began volunteering at MATA’s free community health camps... Healthcare begins long before a hospital.”
